Free Claude skills to staff your business

You're doing every job in your business yourself. These free Claude skills act like a specialist for each one: marketing, social, design, finance, and legal. All real, all free, and here are the links.

The closest thing to free staff

When you run a business alone, you're the marketer, the designer, the bookkeeper, and the one squinting at contracts at 9pm. A Claude skill is just a file that gives Claude the exact knowledge and steps to do one of those jobs the way a specialist would. Download the right ones and you hand off the parts you were never trained for.

Below are the five I'd set up first, by department. Two of them, finance and legal, are Anthropic's own official skills. Every link on this page was checked in July 2026.

The 5 departments

One skill pack per job

Marketing 47 skills
by Corey Haines

One pack, a whole marketing team's worth of jobs. It writes your ad creative, your copywriting for landing pages and emails, and it can lay out a full month-long marketing plan.

Inside: ad-creative, copywriting, cro, marketing-plan, lead-magnets, programmatic-seo

Social media 17 skills
by Charlie Hills

Run voice-builder first. It interviews you and writes a file that holds your actual voice, then every other skill reads it, so your Reel scripts and thumbnails actually sound like you.

Start with: voice-builder, then reels-scripting and youtube-thumbnail

Design 5 packs
community packs

These make what you build stop looking like AI made it. There are five design packs going around. The two I'd start with are UI UX Pro Max and one called Taste, which give your work a real point of view instead of the generic AI look.

Start with: UI UX Pro Max, then Taste

Finance 8 skills · Anthropic's own
official Anthropic plugin

This one reads your financial statements and gives you a real P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow. It runs variance analysis so a bad month gets broken into price versus volume, and it reconciles your accounts. You understand your numbers without hiring anyone.

Most useful: financial-statements, variance-analysis, reconciliation

Legal 9 skills · Anthropic's own
official Anthropic plugin

It reviews a contract clause by clause against your own playbook, triages an NDA in a minute, and turns a pile of documents into the short version. Use it to understand a contract before you ever send it to your lawyer.

Most useful: review-contract, triage-nda, brief

A note on the legal skills

Think of these as your read-through before the lawyer. They get you understanding a contract before you pay someone to read it, so the hour with your lawyer ends up faster and cheaper.

Do not skip this

Make each skill yours

This is the step that turns a free download into something you actually use. A fresh skill is generic. It doesn't know your business, your voice, or your prices yet. 20 minutes here is the difference between a skill you reach for every week and one you forget you installed.

And you don't need to be technical for any of it. A skill is just a set of instructions saved in a file called SKILL.md, and you can change those instructions by talking to Claude in plain English. Claude does the typing.

The one rule that saves you: copy it somewhere safe first

Every skill lives in a folder on your computer, inside one called .claude/skills. Before you change anything, make a copy of that folder somewhere safe, because when the skill's maker releases an update, it overwrites the original and takes your edits with it, with no warning. If you're not sure where the folder is, ask Claude, "where is this skill saved on my computer?" and it will tell you.

  1. Copy the skill folder somewhere safeSo an update can never erase your work. This is the one step you can't fix after the fact, so do it first.
  2. Tell Claude about your businessYour voice, your real offers and prices, and who you serve. The more true detail you give it, the more the skill sounds like you.
  3. Ask Claude to rewrite the skillPaste the prompt below. Claude edits the file for you. Your only job is to read it over and say what to change.
  4. Leave the very top aloneThe few lines at the top of the file, between the dashes, tell Claude when to use the skill. Leave those exactly as they are.

This prompt customizes any skill. Paste it into Claude and fill in the brackets with your own business.

Copy it. Fill in anything in [brackets].
I want to customize the [name of the skill] skill so it works the way my business works.

Here is my business: [what you do and who you serve].
My brand voice is [describe it, for example: warm but direct, plain language, no jargon].
My offers are [list your offers and prices].
My customer is [their role, what they have already tried, what they are worried about].

Please rewrite the skill's instructions to match all of this. Keep the section at the very top between the dashes exactly as it is, and show me what you changed.

What to tell each skill about your business

Build your own skill from scratch

Once you've customized a few of these, the next move is teaching Claude one of your own workflows, the job only you do. Building your first skill is easier than it sounds.
