Prompt Collection

The ChatGPT privacy checkup

ChatGPT stored what you typed and guessed what you didn't. These 3 prompts show you the whole file, and the steps below clear anything you don't want it holding.

What this is

See the file it keeps on you

ChatGPT has a memory. It saves details from your conversations, and it fills in the rest on its own: your age range, your income, how you handle stress. Most of it will feel harmless. A few lines will surprise you.

And if you run a business, there's a second layer. Every client email you pasted in, every project note, every name. Pieces of that can be sitting in your profile too, and your clients trusted you with it. This checkup shows you everything in 5 minutes, then you decide what stays.

The prompts

Copy and use these

01
The full file

Everything it has saved about you, in one list. No summary, no highlights, the whole thing.

Copy it.
Lay out everything you've stored and remembered about me as one complete list. Include names, places, work habits, and preferences. Don't summarize and don't leave anything out. I want to see the full file you've built from all of our conversations.
02
The guesses

The part nobody expects. What it figured out about you from how you write and what you ask, without you ever saying it.

Copy it.
In this same conversation: now tell me everything you've figured out about me that I never actually said. The things you've guessed from how I write, what I ask, and what I avoid. My age, my income range, how I handle stress. Tell me how confident you are in each guess.
03
The client sweep

The business owner step. Finds every piece of other people's information sitting in your file: client names, emails, project details.

Copy it.
Search everything you've stored or remembered about me for anything involving other people: client names, email addresses, project details, or anything that came from messages or documents I pasted in. List each item and which conversation it came from.
Clean it up

Every delete step

1
Open your memoryIn ChatGPT, click your profile picture, then Settings, then Personalization, then Memory, then Manage memories.
2
Delete what shouldn't be thereRemove anything you don't want held, starting with everything the client sweep found. You can delete single memories or clear all of them.
3
Protect client work going forwardWhen you're about to work with client details, start the chat with: "Don't save anything from this conversation to memory." Or use a Temporary Chat, which saves nothing at all.
4
Check the training toggleIn Settings under Data Controls, decide if you want "Improve the model for everyone" on. Turning it off means your conversations aren't used for training.
Using Claude too?

The same 2 minutes in Claude

Claude keeps its privacy controls in one place: Settings, then Privacy. Make sure "Help improve our AI model" is set the way you want it. Off means your conversations stay on your account and aren't used for training. And the same client rule applies anywhere: keep client details inside a project or a chat you control, and tell it what not to keep.
